Work with what you have

Chris Christie starts to pull ahead of DeSantis. Not surprising.

DeSantis SHOULD have been the sole challenger to Trump. He courageously opposed Trump’s lockdowns and muzzles and needles, and protected Florida from Trump’s genocide. As soon as he started running for President he threw away his entire reputation and record.

I can’t parse his reasons. Sabotage or stupidity? Doesn’t matter. If he was sabotaged by an adviser, it indicates that DeSantis is politically and strategically stupid. If he is sabotaging himself, it indicates the same thing.

Christie doesn’t have the same record, but he does have a record of political guts in other ways. He is sticking to his own established niche, not trying to play someone else’s game. Most importantly he’s doing what a challenger SHOULD do. He’s fighting the incumbent firmly and ferociously.

Carver:

Start where you are.
Work with what you have.
Make something of it.
Never give up.

For clarity, I don’t agree with most of Christie’s positions. I’m only talking about personality and the job of a political challenger. Positions are somewhat important but GUTS is what counts in the end.
