Partisans are always writing columns about “what the Dems missed” or “what the Repoofs missed”. If only we had done X instead of Y, we would have won election Z.

Trump knows how to run a cult. Putting it another way, he knows pro wrestling.
Every new indictment is an endorsement. Every new court trial strengthens the loyalty of his followers.
Dems aren’t able to gain this type of loyalty because they own the system. No Dem is ever indicted or charged with anything. No Dem is ever criticized or even slightly less than maximally praised by the media. So the cultists don’t have any motivation to defend Hillary or Obama or Biden against the Horrible Other Party. They know the Horrible Other Party is powerless.
