Not taking the assumption

Speaking of the need to make things happen on the first day…

Spokane’s new mayor Lisa Brown is doing just that. She fired the Fire Chief on the first day. The police chief quit somewhat earlier, getting out while the getting was good.

I’m going to reserve judgment on these moves. Brown is a hard-left D, and the previous mayor Nadine is a squishy fake R. So the automatic assumption is that Brown wants to defund and destroy the cops.

BUT: Ten years ago the opposite happened. Mary Verner, a competent Democrat who was good at routine matters but fell apart in emergencies, was DEFENDING the police against the usual lefties. Bloomberg’s bitchboy Condon, a Repooflican carpetbagger from NYC, came in and HATED the cops. All the local Repoof talkers also HATED the cops because the cop-hater was R and the cop-defender was D. Condon fired the existing competent police chief and brought in one of his NYC carpetbagger buddies, who proceeded to dismantle and destroy the police.

That was the moment when I gave up on both “parties”.

So I’m not going to make the standard assumption until we see what happens next.
