I’ve been puzzled by the intense email spam from the California election between Adam Schiff and Katie Porter. I’m nowhere near California and neither side seemed to need money. Why were they filling my inbox?
Turns out Porter’s complaints about stolen elections were true. All elections are stolen, but this one was manipulated in an especially crass and brazen way by Schiff. The exposure comes from Slate, not from Repooflicans. (I guess the Repoofs were happy about the manipulation, so didn’t see any problem with THIS stolen election.)
Schiff pumped a huge amount of money into boosting Repoof turnout in the top-two primary, and specifically into funding a campaign for Steve Garvey, who wasn’t a serious candidate and didn’t seem to want the office very much. Schiff pulled Garvey into 2nd place, thus eliminating the strong D candidates Porter and Lee. Since nobody will vote for Garvey in November, Schiff is guaranteed.
Schiff also boosted all Repoof turnout, which led to a large number of surprising R gains in other parts of California, including the anti-crime shift in Frisco. (Other sources see the parallel shift in DC and Frisco as part of a broader trend toward sanity in D cities, not solely the Schiff trick.)
Back when the Top Two ballot was introduced here, I thought it might be a small improvement in a one-party state like Wash, but didn’t see any great advantage or fault. Obviously I don’t think like a politician. I’m blind to strategic trickery.

Next day, the media are working hard for Schiff, hammering on Porter and calling her MAGA for daring to question the word of a Blessed Saint. Bezos Post says “No, the election wasn’t rigged”, thus proving beyond a doubt that it was.
The media always knows who is Blessed and who is Heretical. It’s PERSONAL, not IDEOLOGICAL. In most modern cases the heretic is Repooflican, but the real variable is Person, not Party. In 2016 Hillary had the Divine Blessing, so Bernie was just as heretical as Trump. When DNC cheated Bernie right out in the open on TV, the media bombed Bernie for daring to question Blessed Virgin Hillary.
