Vivek knows how to play the clickbait game, and Ann Coulter does too.
Ann claims to agree with Vivek on many points but says that she couldn’t vote for him because he’s Indian. Good clickbait.
I’d have trouble voting for Vivek because he’s TOO AMERICAN. He makes a huge point of American exceptionalism, which is a guaranteed gateway to neocon imperialism. Bush used those words as a weapon to kill millions of Muslims.
We don’t need another Bush, even a dark-skinned Bush.
We need a leader along the same lines as Nehru and Modi. We had such a leader once. FDR.
Nehru and Modi and FDR exemplify socialism in one country, which is true populism. Each was strongly protectionist, devoting the resources of government to building up this country’s industries and skills, excluding foreign influences. Nehru and Modi and FDR were NON-INTERVENTIONIST.
Exceptionalism also implies forcing this country’s culture on the rest of the world. Bush imposed “democracy”, meaning NYC values, on the non-NYC parts of America and the extremely non-NYC parts of the world. Nehru and FDR encouraged local cultures but didn’t try to impose cultures where they didn’t belong. If what I read in media is correct, Modi isn’t as pure on this issue. He seems to be forcing Hindu values on the non-Hindu parts of India.
Vivek’s diagnosis and analysis of our situation is strictly realistic, but his prescription is Libertarian, which automatically means globalism.
