More Ponca action

Last week I noted that the house across from Grandma’s apartment in Ponca is for sale. I reprinted my account of the Folly that used to be there, and the puzzle about where it was.

Now Grandma’s apartment itself is for rent! The address given by Zillow is for the lower left apartment, but the pictures are unquestionably the upper left, which was Grandma’s. It appears that the back porch part has been removed, which is probably good. The back porch was poorly built, while the main apt is still solid.

Most of the elegant touches have been removed, but the front door to the balcony is still original.

The pictures don’t include the kitchen, so I can’t tell what they did with the service hall, the building’s most unique feature. They probably expanded the kitchen into that area, since the writeup lists a whole set of modern appliances and laundry in the kitchen. The original kitchen hardly had room for a fridge, let alone the other things.
