Trump to Close Voice of America’s Overseas Offices and Radio Stations. The push to close the offices appears to contradict a federal judge’s order from April, which required Trump officials to resume operations at V.O.A.
Cadillac: I hate to see any shortwave station abandoned. I used to enjoy shortwave.
Mother-in-law: VOA never fulfilled its supposed purpose. It was advertised as an unbiased source of truth. It wasn’t. In the 60s when I was listening to a lot of shortwave, I treated VOA and Moscow as opposite poles for coverage of Vietnam. VOA carried our lies, Moscow carried Russia’s lies. When I wanted something closer to the truth, I listened to neutral nations, especially Portugal. After shortwave died in the 1990s, national broadcasters were simply unnecessary, and most of them have been abandoned now.
BIG FACT: There’s no purpose in ANY form of official propaganda now. Nobody believes anything in official or mainstream media.

Caddy: Trump’s first term was the most evil crime in living memory, and the broadest crime in human history. Not as immediately deadly as some wars, but the first war where EVERY GOVERNMENT ON EARTH committed the same genocide and torture on its own people.
MIL: His second term is mostly a long-delayed and necessary maintenance action. He’s mowing down large fields of federal activity. The MAJORITY of the plants in those fields are poisonous deadly weeds, wasting the budget and destroying our industry and slaughtering massive numbers of people with evil aggressive wars and unspeakably demonic fake “epidemics”. Those agencies need to be abolished and all of their employees need to be EXECUTED.
A few of the plants are worthwhile leftovers of FDR. Ideally a more selective pruning would have been better, but selective action in government ALWAYS gets bogged down in endlessly multiplying blocks and counterblocks by “congress” and “judges”.
Clearcutting is the only way to get shit done.
FDR had to do the same thing with the Wall Street monsters in 1933. He closed all banks FIRST, then sorted out the good ones.
VOA has been wasting money for at least 60 years.
Federal research grants have been wasting FAR MORE THAN MONEY for at least 60 years. I’ve been bitching about them for 60 years, and I’m HAPPY to see them wiped out. Real research serves real needs, not weird religious crap like Gaia and Diversity. If any USEFUL research is happening in academia, it will continue to be supported by industrial grants or crowdfunding.
