The purpose of IP is to block people outside the clan from using your knowledge. When other companies can’t use the knowledge, the knowledge isn’t backed up. The knowledge CAN AND WILL be destroyed when the owning company fails, or when the owning company decides to stop making the product or publication. Nobody else will dare to use it because the patent or copyright could be claimed by the owner, or by a troll with fake connections to the owner.
Banning mixed marriage prevents genetic knowledge AND cultural knowledge from being backed up. When the banning clan dies out, its genes and culture will disappear.
Allowing mixed marriage gives the genes and culture a better chance to survive, and also yields hybrids who are usually stronger and healthier than thoroughbreds.
