Even if he’s too dumb to understand how the Web works, his billion-dollar lawyers can hire techies who do understand. Why haven’t they stopped him? Are they working for the prosecution?
Maybe the word HIRE is the key. Sammy’s parental units** have always worked for bureaucracies where all services are provided by the same government that taps the services. They’ve never operated outside the system or against the system. Everything in their lives and minds is 100% perfectly aligned and resonant with the bureaucracy, so they’ve never needed to self-censor or guard their thoughts. The idea of hiring a tech expert, or developing independent systems, is incomprehensible. Sammy continued to work inside the system, bribing politicians through standard channels in the same way as a university or corporation.
