Seattle gives us an interesting marker for cultural change. A new city ordinance bans discrimination by CASTE. This applies solely within the Indian immigrant community, since other Americans are dishonest about caste. We replace caste by fake shit like “ideology” or “takers and makers” or “merit” or “hard work” or “party”. Indians are honest and extremely precise about caste.
