I was deeply inspired by Beatrix’s detailed account of the old Muses.
BBC was founded in the early grandiose high-culture moment of radio, and spent plenty of taxpayer money on classical crap, which it promptly and permanently blasphemed.
An archway dedicated to the Muses and to Almighty God, placing the Almighty Prophet Director Reith on the same level as the Muses.
Transcribing as text:
This Temple of the Arts and Muses is dedicated to Almighty God by the first Governors of Broadcasting in the year 1920, Sir John Reith being Director-General. It is their prayer that good seed sown may bring forth a good harvest, that all things hostile to peace or purity may be banished from this house, and that the people, inclining their ear to whatever things are beautiful and honest and of good report, may tread the path of wisdom and uprightness.
Checking BBC’s homepage today.
Banish all things hostile to peace? Strong support for Ukrainian Nazis in our endless war against Russia for the mortal sin of never attacking us.
Beautiful and honest and good report? Racism, sexism, genderism, “climate”, strong support for Elizabeth Holmes, defund police.
BUT: Absolutely nothing about the “virus”, and nothing about the demon’s attempted resurgences like “variants” and “monkeypox” and “RSV”. The whole subject is absent.
Thank the muses for small nonbarks.
As a wise man once said: The media will never tell the truth. Occasionally they will stop telling lies.
