Looks like the bitcoin game is in the mopup stage. After chipping away all the supporting players, the regulators finally went after Binance, the main engine of bitcoin. Like GM, Binance has been buying up and knocking down its competitors for many years.
Time for an upshift in the killcount. The next gear is AI, which has been revving up its countershaft for several years.
Bitcoin steals a tremendous amount of money from fools but doesn’t directly steal any jobs or meaning.
AI doesn’t move money around. AI snatches the entire purpose of life from writers and artists and other creators. Delicious fun for demons.
Later after reading Kirn’s latest musings on the subject: The output of AI is not relevant. The snatching is the goal. It doesn’t matter if the output is beautiful or ugly or profitable. Tech tyrants don’t want profit. They want to steal and break and destroy. Depriving humans of usefulness and creative pride is their profit.
