Just figured out something.
Reproducing my random “chain” of “thought”:
After writing previous item on plus key vs minus key, I started “thinking” about the peculiarity of the standard PC keyboard. Plus is shift-equals, which is clumsy and error prone. The separate adding machine keyboard to the right is more convenient, but for some reason I never use it. The num lock key works, but the scroll lock and pause keys do nothing. The PrintScreen key requires you to hit Alt at the same time, which is clumsy. Why not just PrintScreen by itself, which claims to be SysReq? What happens when you hit the PrintScreen by itself? Does it do SysReq, which formerly meant activating IRQ followed by a number?
PrintScreen by itself DOES copy the screen to the clipboard.
For 30 fucking years I’ve been stretching my hand to hit Alt-PrScr when I could have been just hitting PrScr. Damn.
