This podcast by The Ankler is interviewing a former CNN dude who is undoubtedly saying some sensible things about the entertainment industry. Most of the Ankler’s content is splendidly sensible, and I’m sure this is no exception. Trust the editor.
I couldn’t listen to more than a minute because the CNN dude reminded me forcefully of a completely irrelevant but unpleasant former coworker. I hadn’t remembered Robertson at all for 40 years, and he wasn’t a friend or enemy, just annoying. He was one of the DeVry teachers in business subjects, not electronics. Robertson was a square-built stocky type, with clothes and hair in moderate-Elvis style typical of the 70s. Sideburns and wide ties.
Why did the CNN dude remind me of Robertson? He had the same constant snarky tone in his voice, sort of like Maxwell Smart. When Robertson disagreed with something, which was pretty much all the time, he didn’t say “I don’t think that’s right” or “No, it shouldn’t be like that.”
He said BITE! YOUR! TONGUE!
Did he think it was funny, or was he just unaware of the constant habit?
