The Episcopal denomination is rejuvenating itself by rejecting its decaying Western branch. This schism took a lot longer than other church renewals, probably because most of the money and property were controlled by the decadent branch. The healthy roots in Africa and Brazil, containing 85% of the church’s people, finally dismissed the money and issued the Kigali declaration last week.

Unlike the vague non-promises of politicians, the declaration is remarkably active and specific. Here’s WHAT we will do and WHEN we will do it and HOW we will do it.

Personal: Some commentators think the decay is relatively new, starting in the 2000s. Wrong. Back in the ’70s, before I figured out that unpopularity is innate and permanent, I was trying out various churches. The Episcopal churches in Enid and Norman were exclusively homosexual, and I mean EXCLUSIVELY as a transitive verb. They made it amply clear that my kind was NOT WANTED HERE.
