A couple of interesting flips toward pragmatism. These decisions aren’t SOLVING problems, but at least the executives are trying to stop MAKING problems. Both decisions are politically tough, crossgrain to the desires of the base.
1. Biden had turned off a Trump order which slowed down asylum-seekers. The resulting flood was predictable. Now Biden is turning the order back on, though he’s playing semantic games.
2. The California legislature approved a plan to pay reparations. It wasn’t yet turned into “law”. Demon Newsom now says he will not approve the plan.

This new pragmatism by D demons hasn’t yet been answered by R demons. The R leaders are still doubling down on culture and “election integrity” to please the shrinking base.
Most people have given up on both parties after 40 years of trivial noise and exponentially increasing problems, ALL CREATED BY THE POLITICIANS.
In a real economy this situation would be seen as an opportunity. More than half of the customers have stopped buying ALL BRANDS of your product. Those customers still like your product, but they got tired of being PUNCHED and SLAPPED by all the brands. A smart business would try to regain those customers, and it appears that D is starting to get smart.
