Random thought, seems wrong, but maybe worth writing down…
Thinking again about the peculiarity of the partisan divide on the “virus”. The lockdowns and ballgags and needles were developed and scheduled by BUSH appointees acting on a 2005 command by BUSH. The lockdowns and ballgags and needles were implemented and mandated by TRUMP.
The anti-Trump left INSTANTLY knew that the TRUMP-BRAND lockdowns and the TRUMP-BRAND ballgags and the TRUMP-BRAND needles were the best thing ever developed, and they’re still steadfastly wearing their TRUMP-BRAND ballgags to symbolize their hatred of Trump and all Repooflicans.
This makes no sense in the usual partisan game. I still can’t figure it out.
Well, what about Trump’s side of this peculiarity? He’s not a natural Repooflican; he was an ordinary D, believing and implementing all D doctrine, until he decided to play politician. He obviously enjoyed the “virus” tyranny because he naturally enjoys mutilating and killing peasants, and especially because he’s OCD.
New and stupid thought: What if Trump was trying to “reach out” to Democrats in the same way that Bud is “reaching out” to non-beer-drinkers etc? Repeating Nixon’s Southern Strategy, cynically appealing to specific shibboleths to gain voters from the other side? This would explain why the Ds instantly supported the NAZI TORTURE despite its connection with the Orange Critter.

One fact favors this hypothesis. Trump already played the shibboleth game in a perfectly literal way with Evangelicals. Lee Atwater had trained Evangelicals to salivate when they hear the word ISRAEL. Repeating the word ISRAEL is easy for Trump because he’s Jewish for all practical purposes. All of his friends and employees and former bosses are Jewish. He has seen Christians on TV.
