When a baron begs for regs

Sam Altman and other tech robber barons have been begging for more regulation of their AI product. When a robber baron begs for regulation, he’s instructing the government to LEGITIMIZE AND PREFER his company over others. If he begs expensively enough, his desires will be fulfilled.

This was already obvious with Bitcoin Sammy, now it’s happening with AI Sammy.

U.S. senators on Thursday introduced two separate bipartisan artificial intelligence bills on Thursday amid growing interest in addressing issues surrounding the technology.

One would require the U.S. government to be transparent when using AI to interact with people and another would establish an office to determine if the United States is remaining competitive in the latest technologies.

The first bill would direct public attention to government as the user of AI, because government would have to place warning labels on its own uses. Sam can then use AI secretly and let the government take the blame.

The office to remain competitive guarantees that Sam’s company, which is of course the most competitive, will get juicy contracts and tax breaks.
