Nikki Haley got another donation from me. She’s hopelessly hawkish on war, but she accomplshed ALL the right things as governor of SC.
In a speech she mentioned that SC had been reliant on textiles, and collapsed when our robber barons sent textiles to China. She got revenge by attracting factories from Japanese and German automakers, and even Boeing’s robber barons.
BEST PART: she changed the rules of the state’s prisons to GUARANTEE THAT A JOB IS WAITING FOR EVERY INMATE ON RELEASE. Dropped recidivism dramatically.
So far Haley has hit three home runs on issues I deeply care about for experiential reasons: Muzzles, Skills, Jail. She has a strike on war, which I no longer care about because I’ve figured out that I simply can’t judge those questions. No experience.
