Odd dynasty

After Trump was “elected” and before he imprisoned and strangled the world, I noticed an asymmetry in my spam email.

The Trump side was exclusively DYNASTIC and ROYAL. The spammers wanted me to sign a birthday card for Lord Trump, or send good wishes to one of Trump’s mistresses or misters or wives or husbands. It was all about obeisance to the nobility.

The D side was much less personal, much less royal. Now I’m suddenly seeing a strange set of dynastic appeals aimed at Sonia Sotomayor. I’m supposed to sign her birthday card or send her good wishes.

She hasn’t been a major media figure. Is she thinking of running for president?

I can’t think of a Supreme who quit before death. Other top officials, even regular judges, often quit and go back to law practice or other political jobs. Supremes always stay till death and beyond.

We desperately need more turnover in ALL top jobs, both corporate and political.
