Via Protos: A spa in Brooklyn is using the heat from bitcoin “mining” rigs to heat the water.
Smart industries have ALWAYS found ways to reuse waste products and waste heat. Well-made machines do the same. Car engines use exhaust heat to pressurize the inlet oxygen. Locomotives use a diesel engine to run a generator which powers motors on the wheels and also powers the various systems in the locomotive and other cars.
This bit of recycling is causing problems because every fucking thing is political now. The spa is called The Bathhouse, which tells you who uses it. The customers are pissed at the bitcoin sidegig because bitcoin is associated with unpopular heterosexual males. Ick! Eu! We don’t want to use COOTIE POWER for our haute-couture social club!
