When I say Deepstate I mean the specific alliance of investment banks with the spy agencies and “political” NGOs. Most people use Deepstate to mean all bureaucracies, the Administrative State.
The non-spy bureaucracies are actually a bright spot in the current dismal picture. Media holds our focus on the utterly meaningless and trivial noise of congresses and presidents, ignoring the real action.
Each agency has considerable independence, and each agency can solve problems when it wants to. Parkinson is gravity, but intelligent life can fight gravity when it chooses.
Right now a few of the federal agencies are trying to bring back healthy FDR-style economics. First and most important, Powell has restored the normal function of interest rates, and is steadily decreasing the infinite flow of counterfeit to Wall Street. Second, the FDR securities agencies like SEC and FTC have returned to action after several decades of Parkinsonian dormancy. They are arresting and jailing corporate fraudsters, and dissolving giant frauds like bitcoin. Now they’re starting to crack down on AI.
This positive change is happening with NO HELP AT ALL from congresses and courts. Biden or his caretakers did appoint the new heads of FTC and SEC, so he deserves credit for the switch.
There must have been some restless midlevel bureaucrats who were tired of Parkinson. Otherwise the new heads would have been scandaled and ethiced into oblivion before they could even start.
