Workers in the whole world are being displaced by robots. What happens here, everyone else is looking at. AI is going to put people out of work. It’s already
putting our members out of work. And that is MANIACAL.
What are you doing? Why do you want to do this? Because it’s a little cheaper or a little easier? It’s unconscionable if you do it at the expense of people’s livelihoods. Everyone deserves a right to work.
I saw a little box running around Santa Monica delivering stuff and my heart broke because that used to be a person on a bicycle who made money doing that.
Why do you put people out of work? It’s not normal.
Question: What message do you have for nonmembers who will be affected?
Somebody has to draw the line and get every other labor force behind us, and we’re the most likely suspects because we are high profile people. We get people like you to talk about these grievances.
It’s happening everywhere. We’re just the ones you’ll talk to. We are serving a purpose beyond our own interests. What happens here, what happens now, is going to have a reverberating effect. Its tentacles are going to reach all corners of the earth.
The digital age is cannibalizing us. It’s out of control and all they’re looking at is the prospect of money and their ‘evaluations’ of the future of their business while they’re crying poverty now.
Nobody asked US if this was going to be okay.
