The latest Bad Girl at Mugshawtys, a perfect Mugshot Barbie:
Same mugshawty from yesterday, charged with theft by taking, possession of stolen property, possession of marijuana, and possession of a controlled substance. The second mugshot is because while she was being arrested for the first mugshot she stole the cop’s hat and taser out of his car while he wasn’t looking, the cop noticed items were missing and went to her house where they found the items.
Some of the comments:
I need to find her and marry her
She looks like trouble. I like trouble!
this is my wife
Add another charge, theft cuz she’s stolen my heart.
Her taxes paid for that hat and taser. Set her free into my arms, your honor.
I’d let her cap me and with my dying breath shout NOT GUILTY!

One of those short Ripley radio features from 1958:
Intro:
In a moment I’ll tell you about the most seductive murderess in the annals of justice.
After the pause:
Madame [???] of Brussels, Belgium was tried on a charge of poisoning her husband, her parents and her two sisters. The tribunal consisted of five married judges who declared the defendant Not Guilty. Their deliberation was prolonged by an argument as to who was entitled to marry her. Judge Benoit won. They might have lived happily ever after, until the return of her lover and accomplice. He confessed, both were found guilty and hanged.

I couldn’t catch the French name in the Ripley item. Google found some original sources of the 1895 story. The case was a lot more complicated and ambiguous than Ripley told. Madame Joniaux was about 50, intelligent but not pretty, and the whole family was addicted to opium. There was genuine doubt whether the poisonings were overdoses or murder.
The handsome Court is daily crowded as the case increases in interest, and Madame Joniaux, who is said to be undergoing her terrible ordeal with great nerve and self-control, naturally attracts a wide measure of attention. As the case continues, her pallor increases, and the fatigue and strain of the position tell more and more upon her. Madame Joniaux is a large and portly woman of fifty or thereabouts, and her fair hair already begins to grow grey. She shows keen interest in every question and answer and watches the witnesses with hawk-like eagerness; while when herself interrogated she answers promptly, distinctly and to the point.
Madame Joniaux’s features suggest an active intellect with considerable strength
of purpose. She has many who sympathise with her, and at present it is impossible to say how the trial may terminate….

Later, the DailyMail fills out the story of Mugshot Barbie, which also turns out to be a lot more complex and ambiguous. The multiple mugshots were not all in one crime spree; they were taken from 2018 to 2023. She claims to be reformed now.
