Outside the boilerplate

A Substack writer was wondering how the hippies turned into “virus” tyrants. I wrote my standard comment:

The hippies who turned into tyrants were always tyrants. The division between high-status hippies and the rest of us was clear in the ’60s. The high-status types led the movement and worked with establishment politicians and CIA to guide the rest of us into useful positions and useful protests. They also sold drugs to the rest of us and reported us to the cops to advance their status.

I saw the first activity up close, and ended up in jail as a result of the second activity.

Thinking about the second part in modern terms…. Selling drugs, especially needle drugs, was a big part of the 2020 pogrom. Practice makes perfect!
