Kedit is still alive

Every now and then I check the webpage of Mansfield Software, the maker of Kedit. For 18 years they’ve been trying to give up the ship, and each time they decide to keep supporting and selling just a little bit longer. I’ve never needed support because Kedit has never shown a single bug or defect in 40 years of CONSTANT usage.

The latest update was in July of this year, when they said:

Many of our customers use KEDIT on a daily basis, and depend on it to help them get their work done. Our plans are always subject to change, but we want to let you know about them for your own planning purposes. That’s why we began posting information about our plans for phasing out the program in the “What’s New” section of our web site beginning in November 2006, which is being brought up to date in this posting:

Support is provided by e-mail to support@kedit.com, and is only available on a limited, part-time basis. We plan to continue support for KEDIT for Windows until at least June 2024. Our support is focused on KEDIT for Windows running on 64-bit versions of Windows 10 or Windows 11. Any new maintenance releases of KEDIT for Windows expected to require a 64-bit version of Windows 10 or Windows 11.

More like an hourly basis than a daily basis!

A good tool never goes obsolete, no matter how fast the Tech Tyrants replace good tools with computer-breaking toxic shit that blocks all attempts to DO WORK.

Kedit is IRREPLACEABLE.

I’ve been using it exclusively since 1987. I’ve tried all the alleged replacements and substitutes over the years, and none of them come close. None of them have copied the ALL keyword or block editing. Those two features, used together, are unbelievably powerful.
