Two errors at once

Watching the “independents” fall into line with the warmongers like passive iron filings under a strong magnet.

Influencers and marketers lose both influence and quality when they stray from their specialty.

Bud Light is an error on the consumer side. A specialist in beer loses customers when it strays into gender politics. A specialist in “virus” skepticism loses customers when he strays into rigid pro-war orthodoxy. Customers and readers are only aligned with this marketer on the company’s specialty. The same customers are likely to have a variety of strong opinions on other subjects, so the influencer loses them by opposing and disrespecting them on other subjects.

The mismatch is also an error on the production side. I came to understand this point after making repeated misjudgments on fake populists and Color Revolutions. When I think or write about basic science (climate), or software (bitcoin), I’m usually right because I have deep experience in those areas. When I try to think about war or political strategy I’m usually wrong.

If you want to maintain high quality products or high quality opinions, stick to your specialty.
