Another trust restorer

Sailer points to a university president who has learned the Bud Light lesson.

When you’re running a business or a college or a government, your SOLE goal is serving your employees and customers.

The business or college or government has specific well-defined products. Beer or research or safe neighborhoods. As long as you work SOLELY inside this feedback loop, you will serve the employees and customers well. This loop is the CONSTANT. Better beer or better research or better snowplowing will PLEASE and HELP everyone in the loop.

When you fuck around with irrelevant stuff like trans babies or partisan politics or foreign countries, you immediately deal with VARIABLES. Everything you say in the irrelevant realm will be used against you by some of your employees and customers. Winning is impossible, and the displeased side will stop trusting your performance in the basics.

This rule used to be universally understood. Maybe we’re getting back to it now after 30 years of doing only the Machiavellian variables that intentionally create riots and wars.

In short: YOU HAVE ONE JOB. DO IT.
