Status all the way

Spokane had a mayoral “election” yesterday. The results seem to give a majority, not a landslide, to Lisa Brown (D) over Nadine Woodward (R).

Brown will continue ruining the city, with a D label instead of an R label. There might be some differences in flavor on the question of homeless camps, but otherwise no change.

The map is divided by status, not income. The lower-status areas favored R Nadine, and the higher-status favored D Brown. I’ve pointed to my neighborhood (Boulevard Park) with an arrow. Note the two blue enclaves near it. Both are slightly above Boulevard Park in topography and status. In other words, both look down on Boulevard Park lit and fig.

D is unquestionably the high status party now. FDR and Henry Wallace would be ashamed of their party.

Metanote: I’m always puzzled by the location antics of algorithms. Readers never read an item about their own country or city, even when the item is current. This morning I noticed a reader in India. Was he reading the positive item about India? No, he was reading this purely local and irrelevant item about Spokane. Now this item has gathered two more “reads” from what appears to be an SEO site.
