Formerly common knowledge

At its height the Rural Electrification Admin published a monthly magazine for its coops and members. Like any good newspaper, the magazine included human interest features along with news about progress and problems in technology and management.

Mr. Moulton’s cows are electrically cleaned every day with a resulting improvement in the appearance of the herd as well as a lower bacteria count in the milk.

It is not so unusual for a farmer to clean his cows with a vacuum cleaner; other families do that, too. Dairyman Moulton, however, is a graduate of an agricultural college and he believes in using his education on the farm.

When Mr. Moulton went to putting his education to work, few people had heard of collecting cow dandruff and selling it to science, but that is exactly what he did. During some seasons of the year, it took 3 weeks to obtain 2 pounds of the dandruff, but it brought 25 cents a pound when sold to two Portland physicians. Now, it pays the energy bill for operating the milking machines.

In addition to his financial return, Mr. Moulton has the satisfaction of knowing that the dandruff from his cows is used in the preparation of a compound for bringing relief to people who suffer from asthma and hay fever.

It’s common knowledge among sane people, a category which FORMERLY included doctors, that exposure to dirt and dander gives you immunity to asthma. Needless to say, doctors have reversed all common knowledge and common sense. Now they “cure” “diseases” by specifically violating ALL rules of common sense and good health. No contact with other people, no exposure to dirt or microbes, no sunlight, no confidence, no work, no sleep, no food, no happiness, no fresh air. We must consume nothing but panic and pills.

Incidentally, I’ll bet Moulton’s cows were also calmer and happier after the vacuuming.
