In this segment, around 22 minutes, Tucker and Glenn are discussing a question that I’ve been asking for a long time. Why do we hate Russia? They don’t find an answer at all, and I’ve never found a convincing answer.
It’s not about “communism”. We hated Russia before it turned “communist”, and we hate it in EXACTLY THE SAME WAY after it’s no longer “communist’. Our hatred is personal, not ideological.
Russia has NEVER attacked us. Not once.
Several times Russia did us a huge favor. In 1867 they sold us Alaska cheap. In WW2 Russia took the worst losses to defeat the Krauts, and then formed an effective second front against the Japs to finish that side of the war.
My best stab at an answer is based on similar situations with Cuba and Persia. We trained Castro to be Our SOB, then he turned back to his own people. We hated him ever since. We trained Khomeini to be Our SOB, then he turned against us. We’ve been ruining Persia ever since.
What happened in 1918 is less clear, but it appears that we invaded Russia hoping to own the Mensheviks as Our SOBs, then they turned against us and worked for their own people. In 1990 we invaded Russia again, with proxy wars and economic and cyber war. Yeltsin was unquestionably Our SOB, but then he turned against us and snuck in Putin, who served his own people. Since that event we’ve been running an especially violent proxy war, along with the usual economic and cyber war.
None of this answers the basic question. Why did we pick these specific countries for permanent invasion and violation and destruction? None of them attacked us before the OurSOBification process, so there was no reason to start the whole mess.
The countries that DID attack us became our friends. Britain, Japan, Germany, Saudi. All allies now.
