This Bloomberg podcast raises an interesting point. The Biden administration has been pushing HARD for anti-trust regulation, which is an unquestionably good move. They’re even pushing harder than I would in some cases! Google has a natural monopoly on searching, acquired by doing the job far better than others. This is not predatory. At an earlier stage, Yahoo had the money and resources to beat Google, but didn’t try. Microsoft still has the money and resources to beat Google, but still isn’t trying.
Bloomberg asks: “Well, can Amazon ever buy anything again?” “Certainly it’s possible for them to buy another company. It will depend on the nature of the company, and it will depend on the administration in power.”
Trump is NYC. Trump is Wall Street. His “populism” was a cruel hoax. Everything he did, especially IMPRISONING AND STRANGLING THE ENTIRE COUNTRY, enriched Bezos and Blackrock and killed everyone else.
Trump has said that he would fire Jerome Powell, who is the only problem-solver in the whole government.
Amazon and Google can resume their total destruction if Trump gets in again. Will they start favoring Trump in a public way? After many years of publicly bashing their glorious benefactor, they might find it hard to change their stagecraft.
