Kirn vs Hart

Still annoyed at the lost opportunity of Kirn’s “newspaper”.

When you take the trouble to print something on paper, and boast that the material is uncensored and unrepetitive, you should BE uncensored and unrepetitive. You should be DAMN SURE that everything you print is entirely new, representing original viewpoints that aren’t available in any of the usual places.

Back in the ’50s the Aberree was truly original. Alphia Hart did his own typesetting and printing in his own office in downtown Enid, and carried a variety of material. The core was opposition to Hubbard’s Scientology, which was a brave position considering the power and influence and litigious habits of Hubbard’s cultists. Hart also carried scholarly pieces about astrology and other mystical subjects, and had a few rumors of CIA’s MKULTRA torture, which had not been publicly exposed at that time. Hart was a SERIOUS dissident, who also took great care to discuss his own motives and biases.

Now it’s easy to find serious dissidents, even in the usual highly censored places like Twitter and Reddit. The two official “sides” dominate, and the offbeat people don’t get monetized or sponsored, but they are everywhere.
