You asked for it, you got it

The Repooflicans are calling Colorado’s decision to remove Trump from the ballot “unconstitutional”.

Leaving aside the plain fact that the “constitution” was deleted in 1803, there’s nothing wrong with a state deciding who can be eligible.

The “constitution” said NOTHING AT ALL about popular votes for President. In fact it assumed that states would NOT use the popular vote. States can choose their electors any way they want, by flipping a coin or popular vote or auctioning the offices on Ebay.

Electors aren’t forced to consider a single official menu of available candidates. In most states they don’t. They completely ignore the candidates of the minority party in that state, even though nearly half of the voters wanted those candidates. Sometimes an elector will creatively choose a local favorite who isn’t even running for president. Omission and addition are perfectly legal.

The Repoofs have been pushing hard to keep the Electoral College because AT THE MOMENT it gives them an advantage. Colorado is doing exactly what the Repoofs want. It’s strictly following the letter and the spirit of the Electoral College. This is how the EC was meant to work.

The same asked-for-it applies to “rights”. Repoofs have been expanding the nonsensical concept of “rights” to include corporations, and then they get disturbed when somebody else expands the nonsensical concept to include abortion or animals or rivers. You made it up, so you can’t complain when somebody else uses your fiction. Instead you should abolish the entire travesty.
