Lately some folks on both “sides” are complaining that nobody worries about conditions in other parts of the world, or conditions in other social classes. Everyone is focusing on our own “lived experience” and ignoring Ukraine and Israel and Yemen and Elections and The Soul Of Democracy and The Environment and Official Economic Statistics.
Lived experience is NORMAL and NATURAL and NECESSARY.
Plants and animals and humans need to be fully alert and aware to events and conditions RIGHT HERE AND RIGHT NOW. If we take our senses away from our own bodies and families and houses and neighborhoods, we will neglect basic maintenance and defense.
The “informed citizen” is a vicious trick played by imperialists to gin up a war frenzy. People halfway around the world are suffering! We need to do something about it!
Or the Gaian and Effective Altruist version: People in 3000 AD will be suffering! We need to sacrifice everything now to avoid suffering in 3000 AD!
Enforced current sacrifice is the whole purpose of “informed citizens”.
