Along with most of the country we’re getting a few days of supercold GLOBAL WARMING. Avista has been sending out the usual WARMING WARNINGS, asking customers to conserve as much as possible. Today, though the supercold GLOBAL WARMING isn’t entirely finished, Avista sent this email:

We are pleased to announce that you can now resume normal energy use. Since the outage with one of our natural gas suppliers has been resolved and temperatures have begun to rise, we no longer need you to conserve energy. We are deeply grateful for your understanding, cooperation and efforts during this period.
With your help, we were able to maintain enough supply to adequately serve all our customers and avoid any disruption during this extreme cold.

This is the first time I’ve ever received THANKS from a Share Value corporation or a government or anything or anyone. It’s mechanical, but the tone of pure gratitude helps to restore trust at a time when EVERY SINGLE FUCKING INSTITUTION AND ORGANIZATION AND GOVERNMENT AND CORPORATION has been SMASHING AND PUNCHING AND TORTURING US.
The All Clear signal (you can now resume) is also highly unusual and welcome in a time when every EMERGENCY continues forever, piling onto the thousands of other EMERGENCIES that continue forever.
