Shadow play

In this podcast Mattingly covers a repeated topic. Africa is the future of religion and the future of civilization. Africa is where families are still functional and still having kids.

Mattingly quotes yet again the African Anglican bishop who was meeting with Brits several decades ago. After listening to their adherence to Innovative Disruption, keeping up with the latest idiotic trends instead of providing a stable background for learning and life, he got up and said loudly and firmly:

Where are your children? Where are your converts? Where are your priests?

Says it all. The northern churches and countries have all the money and property, but Africa has the children and converts and newly trained priests.

Reminded me of the old hand shadow game.

Here’s the church.
Here’s the steeple.
Here’s the money.
Where’s the PEOPLE?

Especially in this week’s weather, I enjoy the image of Snowbird God who abandoned the cold hard mechanical north and moved to a warm place where the people love him.

New thought: Money also fits this image. If all the money is in Place 1 and all the love is in Place 2, God will be in Place 2.
