Crucial article.

This piece by Nathan Pinkoski in Compact may be the most important article of the year. More than justifies the price of the subscription!

He explains what REALLY happened in 1968. The conventional account is intentionally wrong about LBJ, Nixon and Wallace.

I was deeply involved in this shit as a hippie idiot, and Pinkoski’s account agrees with my observations at every point. When a writer agrees with reality at every checkable point, I’m strongly inclined to accept his conclusions about other points.

= = = = = START QUOTE:

RFK was too disliked to unite the Democratic Party. Both he and Eugene McCarthy competed for the support of college-educated voters opposed to the Vietnam War, but this was only a small segment of the electorate. RFK was reviled by union men, who remembered what he did to Jimmy Hoffa, and distrusted by black Americans, who had learned that Kennedy authorized the wiretapping of MLK. Had an assassin’s bullet not removed him from the race, Kennedy was likely to lose.

…..

Proponents of the conventional narrative are right about one thing. Johnson’s departure from politics did inaugurate a darker era, just not for the reasons they say. LBJ incarnated both the best and worst of the ethos of the New Deal progressives who had controlled Washington since the 1930s. No patron of Marquess of Queensbury rules, he used a variety of dirty tricks to confound his political opponents throughout his career. He fought his enemies doggedly, but he respected them. So in private, he could lend them succor and support. When he left office, most Americans didn’t realize that the ethos of their governing class was changing.

When he took the oath of office in 1969, Nixon faced a Democratic Party that still controlled both houses of Congress, in which Johnson’s brand of patriotic progressivism was in decline. In its place was the ideologically purer Harvard liberalism. Its militants were trained for lawfare**; they sought the absolute political elimination of their foe, and they made no secret of their hatred for Nixon.

All of this was echoed in 2016. Trump was Hillary’s chosen successor and Deepstate’s best tool, just as Nixon was LBJ’s chosen successor and Deepstate’s best tool.

Nixon and Trump gave Deepstate everything it wanted. Nixon gave us affirmative action, Gaian lunacy, riots, abortion, and MMT. Trump gave us the “virus” holocaust, riots, more abortion, and more MMT. Infinite riches for Wall Street and infinite torture for everyone else. Nixon and Trump were both assigned scapegoats, or in my terms sacrificial anodes. They committed all the crimes Deepstate had been dreaming of, and then took all the blame for OTHER crimes, so the REAL crimes could be ignored and the real culprits could be deified.

In both cases the media concentrates our attention on trivial nonsense (Watergate, Insurrection) and totally skips the actual monstrous treasons and crimes against civilization. I’m goddamn tired of journalists claiming that their “profession” was pure and ethical until 2016. Watergate was identical to Insurrection. In both cases the journalists KNEW that Nixon/Trump was a puppet of LBJ/Hillary. In both cases the journalists loyally served Deepstate by supporting LBJ/Hillary and destroying Nixon/Trump. The press was ALWAYS disgustingly partisan.

** Footnote: Hillary got her lawfare apprenticeship as an intern with the Watergate Committee, neatly linking the two monstrosities.
