It’s a peculiar situation. Polls consistently show that 2/3 of the population is perfectly tired of the political and corporate teams and all the crimes committed by the political and corporate teams.
Yet no writers or politicians or corporations or advertisers or churches or entertainers are trying to pick up this audience. All the output from all sources is aimed strictly at Team A or Team B.
When you’re off the teams you feel unique and alone because your attitude isn’t being reflected anywhere. In fact we’re not unique or alone. We’re a STRONG MAJORITY, especially among younger folks.
And that’s the most peculiar part of all. Allegedly younger folks are The Demographic, the age range that all writers and advertisers appeal to. Well, where’s the appeal?
The teams are getting narrower and narrower and more specialized, in all fields. In pro athletics, every game or race is between two identical performers who are at the top of their range, and the difference has to be measured in microseconds or millimeters. In automobiles all cars are purely identical, all cranked up to infinite horsepower and infinite weight and 0-60 in 0 seconds. All maxed out and all utterly absurd. In stock crimes the traders pay millions of dollars to gain an arbitrage advantage of picopicoseconds, and then the advantage is instantly wiped out because all the competitors adopt the same new tech. In politics all competitors are perfectly brainless and perfectly incapable of normal problem solving or normal speech or normal behavior. Maxed out incestuous infantile monstrosities, stupider and eviler and crazier than anything you could find in the worst prison or insane asylum.
Meanwhile, normal humans continue performing in our varied ways with varied capabilities, each of us trying to solve problems and run a useful life, each of us trying to make room for the varied capabilities of others. We manage somehow despite the maxed-out identical monstrosity of all our utterly maxed institutions.
= = = = =
Of course some of us are more varied than others, but it’s still better than the verbatim identical maxed-out lunacy of the Teams.
