After I obediently gave Deepstate the snap reaction it wanted, I turned up my input filters and baseline sensors. This is clearly a rather low-quality fake THREAT, and the repeat is designed to create a new fake threat CATEGORY.
Deepstate treats an ordinary and frequent object as a UNIQUE UNPRECEDENTED HISTORIC FIRST! NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE! NOBODY EXPECTED IT!

Deepstate and its media always violate verb aspect. An event which happens all the time (like weather cycles or weather balloons or flu seasons) becomes FIRST EVER WHO COULD HAVE EXPECTED IT!!!!
Deepstate also violates noun aspect (probably not the right term, but analogous). An object that belongs in the category of common unremarkable things gets a NAME and an IDENTITY, and becomes a BRAND. The common cold becomes SUPERVIRUS, with unique SUPERPOWERS that have never been encountered or measured before. A weather balloon becomes SUPERBALLOON, with unique threats that have never been encountered or measured before.
These attacks are aimed at the baseline-sensing part of our nervous system. We are exquisitely designed to adapt to baselines in both verb and noun. We quickly learn to ignore patterns that repeat, from the cycles of a sound wave to the beats of music to moon phases to seasons. With the aid of culture we adapt to longer repeats like weather cycles and generations.
We also adapt to aspect of nouns. We know my house, my dog, my friend. Each of these unique items has a NAME, distinguishing it from the baseline of houses and dogs and humans. We also distinguish mid-level categories like terriers or bungalows or craft beers or demons.
Demons jumble up all boundaries, confusing our foreground senses and our baseline senses. Demons break all real baselines and create temporary false baselines to fill the gap. This week’s defined-as-unique balloon belongs to the defined-as-category of TERROR BALLOONS, which didn’t exist until the demon made it up. This defined-as-unique virus belongs to the defined-as-category of BIOTERROR VIRUSES, which didn’t exist until Robert Kadlec made it up.
