Chicago’s mayor claims that the city MUST continue to invite foreign invaders “because Chicago is a sanctuary city”.
Where are the goddamn philosophers? “Sanctuary city” is NOT an unchangeable quality of Chicago. It’s not even part of a hard-to-change constitution or charter or religious belief or cultural tradition. It is simply an arbitary decision by recent politicians.
Chicago’s unchangeable qualities, the facts that DETERMINED the course of events in Chicago, are geographical. (1) Chicago is on the banks of the Great Lakes. (2) Chicago has hard winters and nice summers. (3) Chicago is near lots of good farmland and iron ore and forests.
Those facts in combination DETERMINED Chicago’s life and history. “Sanctuary city” doesn’t DETERMINE anything. It was an arbitrary decision made by previous mayors, and the current mayor can undecide it any time he wants.

Bigger and simpler thought: None of this crap is REQUIRED by any NECESSITY. We have borders. We have satellites and drones. We can build walls. We have a million soldiers. Many of those soldiers are EFFECTIVELY PROTECTING BORDERS OF OTHER FUCKING COUNTRIES, LIKE KOREA. The same soldiers could be protecting the borders of THIS FUCKING COUNTRY if the dysgovernment wanted to do it. Our federal dysgovernment does not protect its own borders, therefore by all definitions USA is NOT A COUNTRY.
