Correlation?

A writer at The Hill, a solid D outlet, is discussing the belated realization that Biden can’t win, and the practical difficulties of having a REAL convention. He mentions two facts I hadn’t heard before:

Brokered conventions have occurred before, however. Democratic presidential candidate Franklin D. Roosevelt won the White House after a brokered convention in 1932; on the Republican side, Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower won the presidency following a brokered convention in 1952.

FDR and Ike were also the only two NON-DEVIL presidents in the last 100 years. FDR promised to solve the economy and then did vastly more, rebuilding the entire country in a form that could function and advance. Ike’s positive work wasn’t nearly as large. He stopped one war and held off Deepstate’s desire to start more wars. Ike was the last president who didn’t create any new wars or genocides.

Seems to be a correlation, but I can’t see an obvious causation. Perhaps a president chosen as a last desperate option, a president who doesn’t owe his success to the operatives who run and fund “elections”, is more likely to be human?
