Demobilize

Here’s a modest proposal. We did it in 1920, and we did it in 1945, but then soon went backwards. We can do it again.

We still have significant industrial capacity, but it’s mostly making weapons and surveillance equipment.

Humans are MASSIVELY SUFFERING because there aren’t nearly enough USEFUL PHYSICAL JOBS FOR MEN.

Demobilize. Stop all wars and occupations.

Bring everything home.

Bring the troops home and assign them to protect the borders.

Convert all warmaking factories to CONSUMER GOODS like radios and computers and appliances. Divert all the defense funding to convert the existing factories, and also to build new factories for industries that have no defense equivalent, like textiles.

Abolish EPA and subsidize factories and power plants to reduce pollution, as Henry Wallace did with agriculture in the ’30s.
