Agrees with observation

Pew has an interesting observation about social media use in various countries. Among the countries with good data, Germany is the least ‘social’ of all. Only half of Germans use social media regularly. Only India is lower, but that could be because overall web connection in India is sparse.

This agrees with what I’ve noticed over the years. Japan and Korea have always been highly visible in web media, but Germany and Italy and France are unusually absent relative to their tech capacity.

I don’t have any guesses about the reason for this disparity, and Pew doesn’t offer any guesses either.
