Another thought that I should have written here first.

On Substack somebody posted a description of the Piven-Cloward strategy for overwhelming a government with demands, lawsuits, and immigrants. I’ve seen this many times, but for some reason the style of this description evoked a new thought.

New thought 1:

This is simply what happens to every empire when it gets old. More broadly, this happens to every person when we get old. We start losing our negative feedback mechanisms and immune responses, so we are ‘flooded’ with stimuli and swindlers and microbes that we would have instantly tossed aside when young.

An empire also loses its feedback systems with age. Bureaucracies no longer automatically reject immigrants or criminals or idiotic demands. Woke students can take over, criminals can take over, fake asylum seekers can take over.

New thought 2:

We’ve been crediting Piven-Cloward for CAUSING these natural events. Until now I always credited them, and called them commies.

It’s also possible that P-C knew what they were doing when they TOOK credit for these natural events. They gain power and money when each stage of the empire aging process happens automatically, and people blame or praise P-C for causing it. (Blame and praise are equally valuable. Dividing is the purpose!)

Churches certainly know how to play this game, attributing natural events to prayer or sin. The Gaian Church plays the game with natural weather events, attributing every good event to Carbon Offsets and every bad event to Evil Repooflicans.
