Elon does shit for his own reasons, mostly to have fun. In this case his own reasons happened to coincide with goodness.
A real Canadian DOCTOR, Kulvinder Kaul Gill, who was trying to protect her patients from lockdowns and ballgags and vaxes, is being prosecuted by the Canadian “government”, which is even worse than the US “government”, though that’s an infinitely high bar. She needed 300k for lawyers, and crowdfunding (including me) raised 182K. Then Elon stepped in for his own reasons and paid the rest, and promised to place his team of lawyers at the service of the defense.
Elon also took the side of goodness in a more specific way when he protected his own workers from strangulation devices. He’s not simply jumping in after the fact to throw money around.

Incidentally, this fits into a pattern that I started noticing early in the holocaust. Some doctors from India (but not all) were the most prominent and persistent opponents of the torture camp. India, in its mostly passive way, has been the world’s desistor, the ‘moderator rod’ of the world’s nuclear reaction, for a LONG time. Other small countries have tried desisting, but Yankee imperialists always bombed them into submission. Like Elon, India is big enough that bullies don’t try to knock it down. Like Elon, India does things for its own reasons, which aren’t always visible to outsiders but often coincide with goodness.
