On the fucking dot. I used to think that talking would release feelings, but gradually realized that it does the opposite. When you say the words, you’re doing a ‘loopback’ into your ears and muscles that reinforces the bad shit. When you engage in productive and purposeful activity UNRELATED to the bad thoughts, you’re allowing the bad stuff to fade and building new pathways that crowd out the bad shit.
