The purpose of venture capitalists, and the stock market in general, is the EXACT OPPOSITE OF PROFIT. The stock market is the RECIPROCAL of real business. When real business prospers, the market goes to zero. When real business collapses, the market goes to infinity.
VCs make the goal perfectly transparent. They invest to destroy business and evade taxes.
The function and purpose of IPOs and LBOs has been obvious for many decades, and writers used to see it more clearly. For instance, the takeover of Studebaker by Curtiss Wright Aviation in 1956 was a classic LBO. Impose debt on the company, use the company’s own debt to buy the company, run it into the ground, grab the assets you want. The predator gets valuable property without paying, AND gets paid by IRS for the theft. Double win.
Not all mergers are LBOs. At least in the past, some purchases or buyouts actually created better efficiency by streamlining management without destroying the smaller company. All recent large mergers are bad. Good mergers are probably still happening on a smaller scale, not visible in the media. This distinction makes it easier for the VCs and LBO artists to conflate and confuse their destructive purpose.
The VCs who play the Carbon game and the Effective Altruism game know how to fuzz their murderous purpose by conflation. “Journalists” always buy the deception because “journalists” are an integral part of the same murder and torture gang.
Nice example today: A16Z funded a Twitter alternative, suckering the fools who obeyed the media command that Elon is a “far-right Trumptard”. Fools left Twitter to avoid “Hitler”, and walked into a variety of traps set by Elon’s EA buddies. Now one of the fake alternatives, The Post, has collapsed quickly, yielding the desired tax evasion for A16Z.
EA is genocide and tax evasion. Gaia is genocide and tax evasion. Wall Street is genocide and tax evasion. That’s the whole story.
These monstrous movements are quite open about their genocidal aims. Previously they tried to maintain the ancient myths in public. Now it’s all blatant and brazen because they own everything and don’t need to worry about peasant revolts.
