The latest Wolf Richter podcast mentioned a VERY important development that cuts against all the standard Shared Lies. Canada has just completed a new crude pipeline from Alberta to Vancouver, opening up a new export channel. Previously Alberta crude only flowed southward through US to Houston and New Orleans for refining and shipping.
This IMPORTANT development didn’t make it to any of the news aggregators I’ve seen. It does appear on the CBC webpage, way down in the weeds after selecting BC local news.
The Shared Lies of both sides silence this IMPORTANT advance. The Green side has to maintain the fiction of total Greenness, so they can’t mention it. The anti-Green side has to maintain the fiction of total Greenness, so they can’t mention it.
The same Shared Lie deluded me about the Keystone pipeline dispute several years ago. Both sides insisted that the pipeline was incomplete, and the protests were preventing its completion. Greens loved the stopped pipeline, antis hated the stopped pipeline. Much later I found out that the pipeline itself has been running smoothly for many years. The dispute was over a shortcut or bypass, not the pipeline itself.
In fact both Canada and US are producing and shipping more oil and gas than ever before in history. The Greens in charge of both “governments” are shutting down our CONSUMPTION of oil and gas quickly, in order to reserve all of it for Master Country China.
Note: In fairness, Shepstone cites industry sources that the main export goal is India, not China. Equally bad for local consumption, but India is a fair dealer while China is Our Owner.
