EnidBuzz posted an ad for an apartment. Looks like an uninteresting but solid unit. The rental is $750, which is NOT hyperinflated. Back in 1980 an apt like this would be $350, and overall inflation is x2 since then. The address rang a bell, so I googlemapped it. Sure enough, the lot was formerly occupied by a house, and the apt owner didn’t bother to hide the leftovers.
The original house was the last house on Broadway before Phillips, and it was architecturally unique. A basic bungalow with some trapezoidal elements, giving it a sort of “Egyptian” look. When I lived near there in the 70s, sculptor Tasso Pitsiri rented the trapezoid house as his studio. Tasso was one of Enid’s many cherished eccentrics. He drove a Citroen for the total Euro package. Like Loewy, he understood the need for a bit of public drama, and also like Loewy he produced some truly memorable works.

Later: Enid was missed by yesterday’s tornados, just got a big rain. Touchdowns all around, in Helena, Bison and Covington, but not Enid. Barnsdall and Bartlesville were hit hard, and some familiar parts of OKC got 100 mph straight winds.
